Financial Disclosure Explorer

Every year, House members file a Personal Financial Disclosure with the Clerk under the Ethics in Government Act of 1978: what they own, what they owe, what they earned outside Congress, and the gifts and travel they accepted. Values are reported in statutory bands.

About this data

Source

Annual Financial Disclosure (Form A) statements filed with the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House under the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. Every filing links to the exact PDF it was read from.

How values are reported

Assets, liabilities and income are disclosed in statutory ranges. Net-worth figures are band sums shown rounded to an order of magnitude. Where a band has no maximum the figure carries a trailing + and an asterisk.

“Record incomplete”

Some filings show this in place of a figure. Transcribing House filings accurately requires page-by-page review rather than automated parsing, and where that is not yet complete a total would understate the member. The filing itself is always linked.

Figures are published for 426 of 444 members. For 18 members, some or all filing years are not shown. Nearly all of those file on paper, where asset values are hand-marked rather than typed.

What this does not show

A disclosed asset is a public record. This tool presents filed data and makes no claim about any member’s conduct or about why they voted as they did. Assets held by a spouse or dependent child appear because the form requires them.
