Data Source
Stock trade data comes from Periodic Transaction Reports (PTRs) filed with the Office of the Clerk, U.S. House of Representatives under the STOCK Act. Members of Congress are required to disclose securities transactions exceeding $1,000 within 45 days.
Coverage
Only members who filed PTRs disclosing stock trades or other securities transactions appear in this tool. 51 of 440 House members have filed Periodic Transaction Reports. Members without PTR filings do not appear in this tracker.
Potential Conflicts of Interest
A “potential conflict of interest” is flagged when a member has traded stocks in a sector directly relevant to a committee they serve on. For example, a member on the Financial Services Committee who trades financial-sector stocks. This is an editorial flag, not a legal determination — it does not imply wrongdoing. The committee–sector overlap is based on YourRepRecord’s editorial mapping.
Transaction Amounts
The STOCK Act requires disclosure of transaction amounts as ranges (for example, “$1,001 – $15,000”), not exact dollar figures. The amounts shown here reflect those ranges as reported in the original filings.
45-Day Reporting Window
Members have up to 45 days to file a PTR after a transaction. Recent trades may not yet appear in this tool. PTR filings are published as PDFs; transaction details are extracted using AI-assisted document reading (Claude). Each entry links to the original PDF for verification.
What This Does NOT Show
This tool does not indicate whether any trade was improper or violated the STOCK Act. Disclosure of a trade does not imply wrongdoing.
Update Frequency
PTR filings are retrieved periodically from the House Clerk. Because members have up to 45 days to report a transaction, recent trades may not yet appear.
